Digg.com is a place where you can find and search for interesting sites that would otherwise be skimmed over by search engines. If you like something you can forward it to Digg and it will appear on upcoming stories. If people Digg it they can vote it to become popular and it will remain on the front page. If it doesn’t get enough Diggs it falls out of the Upcoming section.

The Meetup.com webpage describes itself at the world’s largest network of local groups. This site offers the opportunity to meet people with similar interests such as great Danes, sports and political views and then organize a get together.
