Once Upon a time, an attractive and ambitious woman went into a beautiful store with a reputation for excellent quality merchandise. She said to the owner, "I would like to work for you. I will work very hard. In fact, I'll do a great job - BUT I ask for the following:
- For everything I sell, I would like to keep 50% commission.
I will also get others to sell for you too! I want to be paid a commission on everyting they sell ... forever... for example 4%, 8% and even 12%. And they also make 50% commission on their sales.
- I want to work from home at my own hours and have no quotas, so I can work alot and sometimes I'll take off a day or two ... or a week or two.
My family must come first and I may not give you any notice of my taking time off work.
- I will also need a car. At first a small car but as sales grow I want a Cadillac with all the options including heated seats and air conditioning.

- I want to be able to promote myself into management entirely through my own efforts.
The store owner was in shock. Finally, he roared with laughter and said, "No I can't even give you ONE of those and I doubt if any opportunities like that exsist."
